Poltrona Frau Contract Divisione

The first prestigious realization for PFG Contract was on board of the Rex, the legendary transatlantic ocean liner at the beginning of the 1930’s. This was the start of a great adventure that led to orders for other famous cruise ships such as the Andrea Doria, the Raffaello and the Michelangelo.  PFG Contract sharpened its sartorial skills on these projects and become a trailblazer in the concept of designing public venues. Its approach combined manual skill and expert craftsmanship with technology and industrial scale production processes. Now the group is involved in several different sectors. Everything from yachts to cars and airplanes, retail shops to museums, government offices to the hospitality sector. Its products can be found in places of art and culture, politics and the business world along with the travel and lifestyle areas. PFG Contract’s long experience makes it highly qualified to work in historical environments but it is equally at ease with the most advanced, experimental and forward looking architectural projects.

The contract division includes 2 brands: Cassina and Poltrona Frau.

Cassina Contract has a special focus on the hospitality and retail sectors. Its name is linked with some of the most iconic hotels of the twentieth century, such as the legendary Hudson New York, the Delano Hotel in Miami, the Clift in San Francisco and Sanderson Hotel in London. Recent projects are: the Conservatorium hotel ad Amsterdam, the Excelsior Hotel Gallia in Milan and the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong. The Contract Division has also made a name for itself in the interior design of boutiques and flagship stores with orders from international brands such as Cartier, Salvatore Ferragamo, De Beers, Ermenegildo Zegna, Prada, Dunhill, Louis Vuitton and many others. It has always been committed to working in close collaboration with its partners and providing a turnkey service. This is the only way to interpret the philosophy behind the designer’s vision and give it shape. The Center features three auditoriums of varying sizes: 500, 200 and 100 seats, each fitted with the vibrant orange “Tangram” seats that Daniel Libeskind designed for Poltrona Frau. Tangram is an innovative seating concept that combines the functional requirements of auditorium seating with the sumptuous comfort of a lounge chair. The chair has a wooden structure and a non-deformable fireproof polyurethane padding. The folding mechanism works purely by gravity. The chair is available in Pelle Frau® Leather Color System, fabric or velvet covering applied by traditional upholstery system and invisible joints. The metal plates for the floor installation are painted with anti-scratch and shock resistant epoxy-powders guaranteeing a flexible installation and the best fixation.
