New life for an old milanese factory
An impressive and luminous loft in a new residential area risen up on an old factory in Milan.
The new residential complex called “The Almond Tree Residence” is constituted by 5 floors above ground with different types of apartments, the 6° and the 7° floor used only for this Loft, object of this report. The attic is characterized by the original factory roof structured with reticular beams that support a barrel vault of great aesthetic effect, moreover the large double-height windows of the living area recall the original factory and give the complex plenty of light and panoramic vieuws on the adjacent roof garden of abaut 200 square meters allowing you to enjoy any time of the green frame and the play of light reflections in the mirrors.
The internal layout provides for the 6th plan living space with living reading room / library, kitchen, gym and bathrooms, a sleeping area with private studio, master bedroom and bathroom. While the 7th floor, there are other three bedrooms with private baths and corridors and a big terrace including a communicated greenhause. The two living unit levels are connected by an open semi-helical iron staircase designed on purpose by the craftman, the parapet is made of sheet iron perforated which continues with the baluster of the loft area, thus within the library that covers an entire wall double height passes through a cut in the floor, maintaining the continuity of the two levels. Some spaces have been completed and enriched with distinct décor which old pinball machines, foosball that contribute to a pleasant and relaxing environment. Even areas paved with crystal walkable transparent increase the sense of continuity vertical of the two levels, giving uniformity of their use.
